Minister Rai urges media to maintain social harmony

Kathmandu, April 23: Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai has stressed on the role of media to disseminate news related to national development and public concern issues.

Inaugurating the second assembly of the Newa Journalists Dabu here today, Minister Rai urged the journalists to disseminate the news realizing the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic identities of the nation, and keeping the sovereignty and independency of the nation in the centre.

On the occasion, Administrative Court chair Kashiraj Dahal, Press Council Nepal chair Borna Bahadur Karki, Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) President Mahendra Bista and Minimum Wages Fixation Committee chair Poshan KC, among other urged the media to be responsible to disseminate the truth-based news maintaining the harmony of diversity in the country.
