DPM Rawal louds for local body election should be held soon

Bajura, April 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal, also the Vice Chairman of the ruling CPN-UML, on Saturday directed the government employees in Bajura district and his party leaders and cadres to make the preparations for local body elections as the elections would be held soon.

Saying that local bodies are deprived of elected representatives for long, he pointed out the need of elections soon.
Rawal was speaking at an inaugural programme of the first municipal convention of the UML in Bajura district.
He also said that the incumbent government was committed to holding the elections within the second week of June. “But it is delayed to do so due to non-cooperation from the opposition,” he claimed, adding that no one could deter the government from holding the elections now.

He also came down heavenly on disgruntled Madhesi political parties, saying that the launch of protest they were warning of against the constitution was meaningless.

On the matter of connecting Bajura to China border via road, the DPM said the government was taking initiation to add Humla’s Hilsa border point with China to Seti Lok Marga through Sain-Piluchaur in Bajura.

He also informed that the government has decided to provide food and employment opportunity to the people of Karnali region and Bajura district affected by a big drought in the 40 years. RSS
