PM pays tribute to people killed in earthquake



Kathmandu, April 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has paid tribute to those killed in the earthquake wishing for the eternal peace of the departed souls.

Prime Minister Oli reached earthquake-devastated Dharahara site in the capital this morning to pay homage to the departed souls amid a programme organized in commemoration of the earthquake.

The Prime Minister observed a minute silence and offered floral tribute in memory of those killed in the earthquake that took place on 25 April 2015.

Also present on the occasion were Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister, Ministers, government high-ranking officials and tourism entrepreneurs.

The tourism entrepreneurs were present at the programme with rally to pay homage to the departed souls.
As many as 9,000 people were killed in 7.6-magnitude earthquake that took place at 11.56 am last year and subsequent aftershocks. In commemoration of the destructive natural disaster, the government has organized a condolence meet to wish for the peace of all departed souls.

On the one hand the people of 14 earthquake worst-hit districts are still living fearful life with psychology that the earthquake will recur. On the other, the government’s reconstruction and recovery work is like a snail pace. RSS
