Turkey: Car bomb targets Gaziantep police HQ
Europe, May 01: At least one person has died and 13 were injured in a car bomb blast near a police headquarters in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, officials say.
The blast hit the southern city, 10km (six miles) from the Syrian border, at about 09:30 local time (06:30 GMT).
CNN Turk said the blast was heard several kilometres away. Turkey has been hit by a series of deadly blasts over the past year, linked either to Kurdish militants or so-called Islamic State (IS).
Ankara, Istanbul and Bursa are among cities that have been targeted by suicide bombings. Nine of the injured were police officers, Gaziantep’s regional governor was quoted as saying. BBC
