Kathmandu, May 5: Lawmakers have completed putting their views on the post-earthquake reconstruction in the Legislature-Parliament today.
As per the Parliament’s agenda, the lawmakers were allocated time to express their opinion on the topic on Wednesday and Thursday.
Lawmakers, speaking on the topic in parliament, had suggested for expediting the reconstruction works, review of the list of eligible persons for getting the subsidised loan and constructing shelters to the people rendered homeless due to the earthquake and now living under open sky.
During discussions on the topic in parliament, the MPs were seen divided regarding whether to retain the incumbent government or to replace it. MPs of the ruling parties as the UCPN (Maoist), CPN (UML), RPP Nepal had voiced for retaining the government while those belonging to the main opposition party – Nepali Congress – rapped the government stressing the need for replacing it with a national unity government.
