Motorcyclist dies, pillion rider injured after tree falls on motorcycle

Tanahu, May 7: A motorcyclist died and a pillion rider sustained injury after a storm-shaken tree fell on his motorcycle at Bandipur Municipality-6 in Tanahu district along the Prithivi Highway yesterday evening.

Som Bahadur Gurung, 31, of Aabukharini Municipality in Tanahu was riding to Anbukhairini from Dumre in the district with Paras Gurung when the incident occurred. Both were critically injured and were immediately rushed to a local hospital in Dumre.

The injured motorcyclist died last night at 11:30 while he was being taken to the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara for further treatment, according to the District Police Office, Tanahu.

Pillion rider Paras is currently receiving treatment at the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara, the police said. RSS
