Fugitive arrested after 13 years

Tanahu, May 7: A fugitive on the run for the past 13 years and charged with attempted murder has been arrested from Tanahu district on Friday.

Police arrested Shree Prasad Thapa Magar, 47 from his house at Kahushivapur VDC in the district, according to Surendra Bahadur Gurung, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Tanahu.

Dahal had thrashed Dammar Singh Thapa, a fellow of the same locality, in May, 2003. Injured Thapa, who was rushed to hospital in Pokhara, later died during his treatment. Magar had been absconding since the incident.

A case of attempted murder had been registered at the District Police Office, Tanahu against Magar in fiscal year 2002/03 following Thapa’s death. RSS
