Lawmakers for ending syndicate in transport sector

Kathmandu, Aug 21: Lawmakers in today’s Parliament meeting called for an end to the syndicate system deeply rooted in the transport sector. They also urged the government to reach the housing grant to the quake survivors immediately and to prioritize service rather than the numbers while restructuring the local bodies.

Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramhari Khatiwada opined for ending the syndicate system in the sector saying that it has badly affected the service recipients.

Dilman Pakhrin of the NC suggested paying attention on the territory while restructuring the local bodies. He even urged the government to include the quake survivors while providing the grants those who were left unregistered.
Bhutanidevi Khawas of the NC also opined for ensuring 50 per cent women’s representation while expanding the Cabinet.

Similarly, CPN (UML) lawmakers Ram Hari Subedi and Yagyaraj Sunar reiterated ending the syndicate system and immediately reach the housing grant to the quake survivors.

On the other hand, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party lawmaker Prem Suwal said that the security was weakening in Bhaktapur with the formation of new government.

Nepal Sadbhawana Party lawmaker Dimple Kumari Jha blamed the government for not concentrating to resolve the Tarai issues.

CPN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Janak Bahadur Buda and NC lawmaker Chandra Devi Joshi urged the government to implement measures to stop the inundation caused by the Seti River at Chainpur, the district headquarters of Bajhang.

Lawmaker, Dulari Harijan opined for ending gender and ethnicity-based discrimination. RSS
