Colonel Lama gets a clean chit

Kathmandu, Sept 6: A Court in the United Kingdom has on Tuesday given a clean chit to Nepal Army colonel Kumar Lama, who had been facing charges of torture and human rights violation allegedly committed during Nepal’s decade-long armed conflict.

The Court gave clean chit to Colonel Lama for lack of evidences against him on the charge of torture, Foreign Secretary, Shanker Das Bairagi, told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) quoting the Nepali Embassy in UK.

Colonel Lama was arrested three years ago in UK during a private visit, based on universal jurisdiction and on the basis of complaint of torture filed against him. RSS
