Nine Opposition parties to reveal their power in Kathmandu today



KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Nine Opposition parties including main opposition CPN-UML are gathering today in a protest rally in Kathmandu showing their resistance to proposal of constitution amendment bill, targeting around one lakhs people’s attendance.

They have been regulating such campaign from parliament to streets asserting that the constitution amendment bill proposal act to be against the national spirit.

The parties, who insist to pressure the government to withdraw the bill, intend to show their power through the rally that is taking place in Bhrikutimandap.

The parties claim that the nine opposition parties have 201 lawmakers, of which CPN-UML alone constists 82- which should help bring about 1 lakhs demonstrators in Bhrikutimandap.

The protest rally that starts from Ratnapark will move to Old Buspark, Bhadrakali, Sahidgate, Newroad Gate, Votahiti, Ratnapark, Baghbazar, Putalisadak and finally turn into assembly at Exhibition Road.
