Constitution amendment will benefit Nepal and Nepalese people: Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: The leading member and former Chairman of Bharatiya Janta Party Dr. Murali Manohar Joshi said if the tabled bill is passed in the parliament, it would benefit Nepal and Nepalese people.

During an interaction program organized by Reporters’ Club Nepal at Yak and Yeti Hotel on Thursday, he mentioned India has always wished for a just constitution in Nepal that would protect and provide justice to each Nepalese people addressing their needs, and Indian government is ever ready to help Nepal in that matters.

Dr. Joshi, who is in a two-day visit to Nepal on the occasion of 100th anniversary of Kashi Hindu University, also said Nepal and India are cultural siblings and both countries are crucial to each other.

He said, “Both Nepal and India have same cultural origin. The temple Pashupatinath is an important religious centre of millions of Indian people, and have faith in God Pashupatinath as they have in Rameshowran. We are culturally very close.”

“India’s wishes towards progressive Nepal has always been her peace, progress and prosperity,” he added , “Nepal has got a new constitution after several years of conflict, and it has always been our wish that this constitution would protect and provide justice for each Nepali people- and for that India is ever ready to help.”

He also urged for resolution in the current ups and downs as soon as possible for political stability.
