MMC claims Aaha Rara Gold Cup title

POKHARA, Jan 29: Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) defeated host Sahara Club 1-0 in the finals of the 15th edition of Aaha Rara Gold Cup to claim the title in the Pokhara Stadium on Saturday.

Kamal Shrestha’s decisive 70th minute goal helped Manang Marsyangdi lift the title.
Sunjit Gurung of Sahara Club was declared the best player and awarded  a scooter.
Likewise, Sujit Gurung of the Sahara- the best goalkeeper, Kamal Shrestha of the Manang- the best defender, Sujal Shrestha of the Manang- the best midfielder, Shiva Subedi of the Sahara- the best striker and Kiran Shrestha of the Sahara the best coach were given Rs 15,000 in cash each.

Karna Limbu of Jhapa, the highest scorer of the tournament, with 11 goals was pursed  Rs 25,000 in cash.
Meanwhile, the winner was handed down Rs 500,000 in cash, a shield, medals and certificates while the first runner up Rs 251,000 in cash, a shield, medals and certificates.
Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Kumar Khadka, lawmaker Rabindra Adhikari and Regional Administrator Khaj Raj Baral distributed the prizes.
Organised by the Sahara Club Pokhara, various 12 teams including from United States of America, India and Bangladesh had taken part. RSS
