Messi wants Barca to sell Gomes this summer: reports

BARCELONA, March 31: The 23-year-old Andre Gomes has been in and out of Luis Enrique’s starting XI this season during his debut campaign for the Spanish giants.

Gomes completed his £40million move from Valencia last summer and was tipped for a bright future playing behind Barca’s deadly frontline trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

But Messi is reportedly growing frustrated with Gomes’ contribution and believes Barcelona should sell him, Spanish publication Diario Gol claim.

Gomes has chipped in with just one goal and one assist in La Liga this term and Messi wants him to contribute more to himself and his two fellow attackers.

Arda Turan is another Barcelona player that has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp this season with reports suggesting Arsenal are tracking him,

But Diario Gol claim Messi is hopeful the Turkey international remains.

Turan has three goals and three assists in La Liga to his name this term despite playing four less games than Gomes.

The report suggests Barcelona’s players share Messi’s idea regarding Gomes and Turan with the former Valencia man struggling to leave an impression on his team-mates.AGENCIES.
