NC President Deuba appeals for NC’s victory

KATHMANDU, May 11: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the imminent local level election is the most significant event and opportunity that take rights from Singh Durbar to all villages of the mountains, hills and southern plains. The right is for governance and development by the locals, he added.

Issuing a press release on the eve of the local level election being held in three provinces on May 14, the NC President said the NC has again been shouldered the responsibility to ensure good governance, social justice and economic prosperity in the country through the implementation of the constitution. And the successful conduction of the local election is imperative for the implementation of the constitution, he stressed.

“The Federal Democratic Republic is the achievement of the struggles waged by the democracy loving people and the sacrifice of the NC cadres, maintaining lead role in the national political movements,” the NC President said, expressing the hope that the local level election would create a solid foundation of democracy in the grassroots with the socioeconomic development and good governance.
According to him, the local level election is a matter of happiness for the NC, which has continuously advocating for meaningful decentralization since 2007 BS. “Therefore, I appeal to all to make the NC victorious again,” he underlined in the press statement.

He argued that only NC has the capacity to ensure inclusive, proportionate and sustainable mobilization of the local resources for the development and dynamic economy.
