CPN (Maoist Center) concludes election result was as expected
KATHMANDU, May 22: A meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) Headquarters has come to the conclusion that the results the party secured in the first phase local level election were as expected.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar today assessed that the election result was as per the expectation.
It reached to the conclusion that the number of votes the party garnered was as expected in the context of the party going for the election amidst confusion and the unsystematic party organization despite the party unity.
While reviewing that the party got victorious in 46 out of the 283 local levels for which the first phase election was held and it was defeated by a vote difference of less than 500 in more than 50 local levels, the meeting concluded that these levels were the places where the party has the basis for winning in the province and federal elections.
The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) Headquarters meeting concluded that although the number of seats secured by the parties is different in numbers, Maoist Center was not weak in terms of the votes.
On the occasion, Prime Minister and party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ observed that taking the authority that was concentrated in Singha Durbar to the people’s doorsteps and conduction of the election to strengthen the local level alone were the Maoist Center’s victory.
Making an appraisal of the limitations seen in the first phase elections, the meeting also decided to determine the strategies to secure victory in more places in the second phase election.
Party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal said the meeting has decided to formulate an action plan and select candidates from the party at the earliest for the second phase local election slated for June 14. RSS
