National Power News Education Award 2017 to be held on September 9
KATHMANDU, July 8: Media and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd is organizing the National Power News Education Award 2017 on September 9.
The Award function is being held with an aim to encourage the academic institutions such as schools and colleges that have made outstanding contributions in the sectors of educational development and sports, said the Chairman of the organizing committee, Madhab Raj Kharel organizing a press conference at the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Saturday.
“I hope we will get all the support needed from colleges, schools, teachers, parents and guardians to make this Award function a success,” he added, “we are also planning to make it nationwide in the coming future.”
More than 500 schools and colleges are contesting for the Award, and the application from for participating in the Award has already opened from Saturday, informed the organizer.
The Award will feature categories such as: Best School/College of the Year 2017, Best Student of the Year (School/College) 2017, Best Result of the Year (School/College) 2017, Best Principal of the Year (School/College) 2017, Best Management of the Year (School/College) 2017 and Best Sports of the Year (School/College) 2017.
Likewise, the Award will also include Jury Award (School/College), Public Choice Award (School/College) and Encouragement Award (School/College).
For the Best Sports of the Year Award, the organizer will select eight best schools and eight best colleges from top ten nominees (each from ten schools and ten colleges) recommended by the selection committee. Then a football tournament will be organized to finalize the winner, according to Program Coordinator, Moti Raj Khanal.
The winner of the Sports Award will also be provided with prize money. However, the amount is yet to be determined. “We are discussing over this matter. We will finalize it soon,” said Treasurer of the organizing committee Kamala Kumari Joshi.
The winners for other categories will be evaluated on the basis of SEE Board results, HSEB results, Jury Evaluation and SMS voting, said Samir Lama, the director of the organizing committee.
