RPP central working committee meeting commences

KATHMANDU, July 19: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), the fourth largest party in parliament, has begun its central working committee meeting today to take decision on constitution amendment and its participation in the government, among other issues.

The meeting has started at Naya Baneshwar under party chairman Kamal Thapa’s chairmanship. It is attended by all the central committee members except leader Pashupati Shamsher Rana who is leading the disgruntled section of the party.

Attending the meeting are 42 new central committee members and the former central members as well.

Also participating in the meeting are party vice-chairmen Deepak Bohara and Bikram Pandey as well as general secretary Sunil Thapa who belong to the disgruntled camp.

Party Chairman Thapa has presented the political report in the meeting that will last until July 21.

Party spokesman Bhuwan Pathak said that besides deliberating on the chairman’s report the meeting will also make a review of the local level election, the party’s current situation and its future course of action.

According to him, today’s meeting was started only after party chairman and senior leader Rana had a telephonic conversation.

Internal dispute continues in the party after chairman Thapa last Friday nominated 42 members to the party central committee. RSS
