Maoist Center to press for directly elected executive president

KATHMANDU, July 23: CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to reinstate the agenda of directly elected executive President in the country.

The Maoist Center, during a party meeting on Saturday, has also decided to make the system of directly elected executive head as the party’s major political agenda. The party has concluded that the current prime ministerial system as the primary agent for resulting the instability in the country.

The constitution promulgated in 2015 September has divided the power between constitutional president and executive prime minister, both elected through majority voting in the parliament.
