Civil servants to be mobilized at the local levels immediatey



KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Minister for General Administration Tek Bahadur Basnet has said that the civil servants will be mobilized to the local units for the immediate through internal management.

“Preparations are being made for the mobilization of staff within a week. As the local elections have been completed, it is the government’s primary duty to marshal the employees to the local units,” said Minister Basnet while speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday.

“Temporary measure is being adopted for the staff mobilization since employee adjustment legislation has been delayed,” he added.

Minister Basnet also said that the government is working on modality for the adjustment of the employees. He added, “The adjustment legislation will be employees friendly. Staff’s sentiments and needs will not be disregarded while making adjustments.”

The bill relating to adjustment of employees is currently under consideration in the Parliament.

Responding to a media person’s query concerning the staffs’ dissatisfaction regarding the adjustment, he said, “There are about 83,000 employees. We need employees to run the local levels- and they should go wherever mobilized.”

“We can understand that they are finding it hard to adjust in new places. The adjustment will be done paying attention to their voice,” he added.

On the occasion Minister Basnet also expressed his commitment to bring improvement in the system the bureaucracy works.

He said, “Many employees are not punctual. They don’t work full time and properly. It has disparaged the entire structure of bureaucracy of the country.”

“Fraudulent staffs will be taken action against. We are committed to bring reform to the administration,” he added.
