Alleged drug dealer killed in police encounter in Lalitpur

KATHMANDU, Aug 7: An alleged drug dealer was killed in a police encounter in Kusunti, Lalitpur on Monday. Police have identified him as Prabin Khatri.

A team of Metropolitan police, acting on tip-off, had reached Khattri’s house in connection with drug dealing. The encounter took place when Khattri, after seeing the police, taken out two pistols and had opened fired. Khattri had sustained injuries and was rushed to Patan Hospital for treatment. He was later declared dead.

Police are yet to confirm whether Khattri was shot dead by police or he himself shot him.
