KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Popular actor Rekha Thapa has left the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) led by Kamal Thapa to join the Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party Democratic.
Actor Thapa, who is also a central committee member of the RPP, decided to shift the party on Tuesday. Thapa had joined RPP on December 2016. She was elected on RPP central committee with popular votes through the party’s general convention earlier this year.
After the internal dispute between Kamal Thapa faction and faction led by Rana could not resolve, Rana had registered a new party under the name of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Democratic at the Election Commission on Saturday.
