KATHMANDU, Aug 10: India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday. She is representing India in the 15th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Ministerial Meeting being held in Kathmandu on 10-11 August, 2017.

Swaraj landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 1:45 pm. She is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and President Bidya Devi Bhandari and other senior leaders later in the evening.

She will discuss about the Nepal’s stand on the military standoff between India and China over Doklam plateau, sources confirmed.

The BIMSTEC inaugural session will take palce at 6pm and will be attended by representatives of all member countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
