India to extend 400 million NRS to flood survivors
KATHMANDU, AUG 19: The Indian government has offered NRS 400 million as relief to the victims of the flood and landslides triggered by the downpour in Terai.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and expressed his grief over loss of lives and properties caused by the flood and landslides.
During the telephone conversation, Modi expressed condolences to the people losing family members in the floods, PM Deuba’s press coordinator Govinda Pariyar said.
“Indian PM has vowed to provide all possible supports for rescue and relief operations, expressing deep sorrow over the human casualty and property damages,” PM Deuba said after the telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart.
