TANAHUN, Aug 27: Nepali Congress’ senior leader, Ram Chandra Poudel, today said the forces opposed to elections were now inclined to take part in the elections.

Poudel made the remark at a press conference held at the Reporters’ Club, Tanahun. Poudel was of the opinion that the provincial and state elections will be held within mid December. “The forces opposed to the elections will also be taking part in the upcoming elections,” he added.

On the occasion, the NC leader pointed out that the country will now embark on a path of prosperity and development citing that earlier political tussles had affected the development work.

In a reference to the party’s working style, Poudel noted that the Congress party fell short of becoming a powerful force due to its tendency of working without a concrete plan.

Leader Poudel pointed out the mess seen in nominating candidates due to the failure to form a parliamentary committee, the sensitive status in Madhes, unmanaged status of officials without departments and lack of active members in absence of provincial committees as some of the reasons creating the difficulties.
