KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Leader of CPN-UML, Ananda Pokhrel has argued that his party was not going to from any poll alliance in the upcoming local level election in Province 2 as UML was strong enough to contest alone.

Speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Monday, Pokhrel said, “I have heard that the ruling parties, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal and some other smaller parties are forging alliance to defeat UML. Well, I challenge them. But it is certain that UML will win. No forces and no alliance can defeat us.”

He however said that UML was open to forming alliance if any party shows interest.

Commenting on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s raising of the issue of constitution amendment in New Delhi during his visit to India, leader Pokhrel said, “Deuba made mockery of Nepal’s parliament in Delhi. Such disgrace! He ridiculed Nepal’s sovereignty and nationality.”
