PM Deuba welcomed in Oman with an honour guard
SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT BHISMA RAJ OJHA, Muscat, Sept 26: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba arrived in Muscat of Oman Monday evening in connection with his three-day visit. The government of Oman gave official recognition to the Prime Minister’s visit.
The PM reached there via Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates after participating in the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, USA.
Upon arrival at Muscat Airport, PM Deuba was received by Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Fahad Mahood Al-Said, five government ministers, Nepal’s ambassador to Oman Sharmila Parajuli, among other high officials.
The Royal Oman Police presented a guard of honour to PM Deuba at the airport.
The Government of Oman has hosted a dinner in honour of PM Deuba tonight. The Prime Minister will have high-level meetings with the Oman government officials tomorrow and on Wednesday, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Oman.
The PM is scheduled to give directives to the chiefs of Nepali diplomatic missions in the Gulf countries regarding the welfare and interests of Nepal and the Nepali migrant workers and their protection, PM’s private secretary Badri Tiwari said.
Minister for Labour and Employment, Farmullah Mansur has joined the Prime Minister’s entourage from Muscat.
The PM’s delegation includes DeutyPrime Ministerand Ministerfor Foreign Affairs Krushna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Asha Koirala, Prime Minister’s foreign affairs advisor Dr Dinesh Bhattarai, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, among other officials.
ThePM and the Nepali delegation had left Nepal for New York on September19.
The Prime Minister addressed the UN session on September 23. PM and his delegation will return home on September 28, Thursday. RSS
