RPP to support Deuba-government; Kamal Thapa offered Home portfolio
KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Rastriya Prajatantra Party has decided to support the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
A meeting of the top leaders of the RPP has also decided to participate in the Deuba’s cabinet, according to RPP sources, as the prime minister mulls over reshuffling the cabinet once he secures a comfortable majority votes.
It has also been understood that PM Deuba is positive in handing RPP Chair Kamal Thapa handing the responsibility of Home Ministry. Also, four more ministries are being allocated to the RPP, according to sources.
NC leaders have maintained that the Maoist minister should voluntarily resign on moral ground or Deuba should sack them of their duties as the ruling coalition partner CPN (Maoist Center) already decided to join the main opposition CPN-UML and Naya Shakti in the left alliance.
Similarly, Nepali Congress has also agreed to allocate seven constituencies for RPP, sources claimed.
