Contractors’ Association Chair Gauchan shot dead in Baneshwor
KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Chairman of Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal Sharad Kumar Gauchan was shot death at Kharibot in New Baneshwor on Monday afternoon.
Gauchan was critically injured when the unidentified group shot him at Kathmandu Metropolis-31, Kharibot Prayagmarg in New Baneswor at around 3.00 pm today. He died on the way to Minbhawan-based Civil Hospital for treatment.
He was travelling on his vehicle Ba 13 Cha 4948 when he was attacked.
Hospital’s on-duty doctor and former Director Dr Bimal Thapa informed that injured Gauchan had breathed his last before he was reached to the hospital. “A bullet had pierced through his heart, another in the liver and the third between the heart and liver. He breathed his last before he was brought to the hospital”, said Dr Thapa.
According to Dr Thapa, two bullets have been taken out from his body. Police source said that the motorbike-borne people had opened fire at Sherchan. The search for the shooters is on, said Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu Ram Dutta Joshi.
