Partnership depends on NC’s generosity: FSFN Chair Yadav

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) has said that his party would decide on whether to form electoral alliance with Nepali Congress (NC) depending on the ruling party’s generosity.

The possibility of alliance is becoming slimmer as the disputes over the sharing of constituencies in the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections have marred the democratic alliance talks.

Leaders of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) and FSFN have claimed stake on 55 constituencies in the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections. But the ruling party doesn’t seem agreeable on the regional parties demand.

“If the NC seems generous enough to take all into confidence, we are ready to form electoral alliance. It depends on how much seat NC will allot,” said Yadav while speaking during a program organized to announce the party unification between FSFN and CPN (United Marxist) at the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Thursday.

Yadav, however said that he would develop his party as an alternative political force between the left and democratic alliance, and fight for the rights, justice, equity, identity, prosperity and sovereignty of Madhesi, indigenous, Tharu and backward communities.  “We are participating in the elections to ensure that the voice of Madhesi, indigenous, Tharu and backward people are protected in the constitution,” he said.

“FSFN will work differently than left and right powers,” he added.

Also, speaking on the occasion CPN (United Marxists) General Secretary Prakash Adhikari clarified that his party merged with FSFN to fight for the rights of backward and destitute people and communities.
