TAPLEJUNG, Nov 11: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has claimed that the leftist alliance has been formed as an anti-democratic force.

Addressing an election gathering organized by his party at district headquarters Fungling on Saturday, he said the communist alliance was against democracy, people and federalism. Establishment of a communist rule will make people’s daily life full of fear and terror.

Expressing the view that the Congress was the only democratic force in the country, Prime Minister Deuba said the communists should be defeated in the coming elections for safeguarding democracy. ‘The election is a competition of choice between democracy and communism’, he said.

NC central member Bal Krishna Khand said the win of the Nepali Congress was inevitable as it now stands as a unified force.

Nepali Congress HoR candidate from Taplejung Keshav Prasad Dahal and candidate to the provincial assembly Liladevi Bokhim appealed to cadres to work to ensure their win in the near-coming elections.

Earlier, Prime Minister Deuba paid obeisance at the famous Pathibhara temple in Taplejung.
