Foreign Department Chief Pandey arrested for bribery

KATHMANDU, Nov 15: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested Director General of Department of Foreign Employment Bishworaj Pandey on Monday.

Based on the statements given by department’s officer Kriti Ballav Poudel and non-gazette officer Khadga Bahadur KC, the anti-graft body arrested Pandey on charge of receiving bribe.

The CIAA, on Tuesday, had arrested Poudel and KC from Indreni Foodland of Naya Baneshwor while taking one million rupees bribe from a service seeker. Poudel and KC, in their statement to police, had said that Pandey had also taken the bribe amount.
It has been revealed that the trio had received bribe promising them win a case sub-judice at Foreign Employment Tribunal.
