BAJURA, Nov 18: Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the left alliance cannot safeguard the people’s rights.

Addressing an election gathering of the Nepali Congress in Bajura on Saturday, Deuba said, “People’s rights would vanish if democracy is not safeguarded. So, NC should be made victorious to safeguard democracy.”

Saying that NC was the party who can safeguard democracy, he urged all to cast vote for the NC candidates in the elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies. He also pledged to work for the development of the far west after his election to the post of PM again.

Deuba was of the view that there was no alternative to the NC for the development and prosperity of Bajura district that carries a number of potentials for development. The residents of Bajura would reside in a power outage-free district and their access to health care would be ensured, Deuba said.

On the occasion, party central member Badri Pandey claimed that the left alliance could not garner majority in the upcoming elections.

He shared that Seti Highway and Karnali Corridor were forwarded during the tenure of Prime Minister Deuba and the then PM Sushil Koirala.
