EC rejects govt request for transferring six gazetted officials

Election Commission, gazetted officials transfer

KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The Election Commission (EC) has denied approval over the government request forwarded to it for transferring on deputation six gazetted officials citing that it was against the election code of conduct. Of these six under-secretaries, three are chief district officers.

According to EC spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal, the EC denied to approve the government decision over the matters. The Ministry of Home Affairs had sought the approval of Commission for transfer of six second-class gazetted officials on Tuesday.

The EC further has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to submit original documents regarding to deputation on transfer of these officials within the next 24 hours.
