ILAM, Nov 26: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Sunday unveiled the newly installed statue of national luminary Mahaguru Phalgunanda.
The statue of Phalgunanda has been installed at Chulachuli rural municipality-1 marking the second anniversary of Phalgunanda Laphayan Multi-Lingual School.
On the occasion, President Bhandari said that all languages, religions and cultures of the country should be protected and promoted. She said it was the responsibility of all to protect the multi-cultural speciality of the country.
President Bhandari also lauded the contribution of locals for the construction of the school and the statue. She urged all to adopt good teachings and thoughts of the Mahaguru, who had significant contribution to maintain peace, unity and religious harmony in the society as well as in protection of languages and script.
Similarly, CPN (UML) leader Subas Nembang, Nepali Congress leader Keshav Thapa, among others shed light on Phalgunanda’s contribution to the society. The School established in 2072 BS now has 80 students, who study free of cost. RSS
