Six killed, nine injured in Chumlingtar bus accident
CHITWAN, Nov 29: At least six people were killed, and nine others injured when a passenger bus veered off the road, and plunged into Trishuli river at Chumlingtar of Ichhakamana rural municipality-3, Chitwan, on Wednesday morning, according to the police.
The bus (Lu 2 Kha 291) was headed to Arghakhanchi from Kathmandu. More details of the accident are yet to come by.
The accident took place at around 9:15 am, and a joint team from the police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force has been mobilized for rescue operation, said Superintendent of Police Dipak Thapa.

Update:Six dead, 23 hurt in Chumlingtar bus accident
CHITWAN, Nov 29: Two women and four men are among the six people who were killed when a passenger bus plunged into the Trishuli river after colliding with a truck at Chumlingtar of Ichhakamana rural municipality-3, Chitwan, on Wednesday morning, police said.
The number of the injured has reached 23. Among them, five have been rushed to Kathmandu while rest was taken to Bharatpur.
A bus (Lu 2 Kha 291) was heading towards Arghakhanchi from Kathmandu when it met with the accident at around 9:15 am today.
According to Chitwan District Police Office Chief, Superintendent of Police Deepak Thapa, the bus collided with a truck (Na 6 Kha 4972) coming from the opposite direction before falling some 100 meters down the road into the river.
The ill-fated bus has been completely submerged in water and the loss is estimated to rise further. Rescue efforts are underway. The bus left for Arghakhanchi from Kathmandu at 5:40 am picking up 26 passengers from Balaju. The Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army are carrying out the rescue efforts in the accident site.
Update: Four dead in Trishuli bus accident identified
Four persons who were killed in a bus accident at Chumlingtar of Ichhakamana rural municipality-3, Chitwan this morning were identified.
The bus (Lu 2 Kha 291) was headed to Arghakhanchi from Kathmandu had slid off the road and plunged into Trishuli river.
According to Chitwan police chief Deepak Thapa, the deceased were 52-year-old Nudraj Adhikari of Arghkhanchi, 30-year-old Amar Bahadur Shahi of Dailekh, 50-year-old Krishna Dhakal of Bardaghat, Nawalparasi and 43-year-old Laxmi Poudel of Arghkhanchi.
