Nepal Army has been authorized to shoot anti-poll elements: Defense Minister
KATHMANDU, Dec 6: Defense Minister Bhimsen Das Pradhan has appealed all the voters to cast vote fearlessly as the government has arranged reliable security for Thursday’s second phase of federal and provincial elections being conducted in 45 districts.
“All the preparations for election have completed. The government has arranged a tight and reliable security for voters and candidates. Thus voters can cast votes without any fear,” said Minister Pradhan while speaking at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu on Wednesday.
“Nepal Army (NA) is alert 24 hours to any untoward threats during the polls. As many as 38 thousands NA personnel are mobilized in 45 districts in view of tomorrow’s elections,” he added.
“We have already issued directives to the Nepal Army. The Nepal Army has also been authorized to shoot the elements attempting to foil elections,” he furthered.
