Madhav Nepal wins federal election in Kathmandu-2

KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Madhav Kumar Nepal, a common candidate of the leftist alliance has become victorious in the House of Representatives election from Kathmandu constituency-2 by securing 27, 366 votes.

His closest competitor, Deepak Kuinkel of the Nepali Congress got 14,903 votes.

Dr. Suresh Raj Acharya of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party polled 7,473 votes. A total of 52,135 votes were cast in this constituency in the second phase of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections held on December 7. RSS
