Deuba will resign only after formation of National Assembly: Saud

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Nepali Congress leader NP Saud has said that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will not resign before the formation of National Assembly.

“We are eager to hand over the government. But to whom? At least, let the National Assembly be formed first,” said Saud at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Tuesday.

“The Election Commission has not published the result of Proportional Representation system of House of Representatives election. The President has not yet approved the Ordinance on the National Assembly Election,” he added.

“First the parliament must get shape. The government must be handed over constitutionally.”

“Thus, we will exit from the government only after the formation of National Assembly as it is constitutional,” he furthered.

Saud also expressed his concerns over the delay over the approval of National Assembly Election Ordinance and urged the president not to hold the ordinance any longer.

“The organization like President’s Office has been dragged into the dispute due to the delay of approval from President. So, the president should pass the ordinance,” he added.
