KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday sacked Urban Development Minister Dil Nath Giri.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chair Kamal Thapa on Friday had written to Prime Minister Deuba requesting to sack Minister Giri from the post citing that it was party’s decision.

Thapa and Giri had a dispute during a cabinet meeting following Minister Giri’s proposal to transfer Ramesh Prasad Singh as the secretary at the Urban Development Ministry.

RPP Chair Thapa, following the incident, had recalled Giri from the ministry citing that his activities were against the party norms and value.

Meanwhile, Giri has termed Thapa’s intervention as tyrannical and arrogant attitude. Following Thapa’s move, Giri had remarked that it had saddened the party cadres across the country.
