UML ready to work together with Madhes-centric parties: Pokharel

KATHMANDU, Jan 27: CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel has said that his party is ready to work together with Madhes-centric parties and amend the constitution.

Speaking at a programme organized to congratulate the newly elected people’s representatives by the All Nepal Women Association in the capital on Saturday, he added that the constitution amendment should be based on genuine issues. He further shared that the UML will support the Tarai centric parties to form a provincial government in Province-2.

On another note, Pokharel said that the party unification process with CPN (Maoist Center) and formation of new government could not be taken in a same context; however both issues is forwarded simultaneously.

Another meeting of the party unification committee to be held soon will take further decisions regarding the party unity, according to him.

BHIM ACHARYA CLAIMS CANDIDACY FOR CHIEF MINISTER

Meanwhile, UML secretary and Province No-1 coordinator Bhim Acharya, organizing a press meet today itself has claimed his candidacy for chief minister in Province-1.

He refuted the rumor that he involved misappropriation while distributing tickets to the party candidates in the recent elections.

It may be noted that the UML politburo member Sherdhan Rai is also claiming for the chief minister in the same province.
