Swaraj, Dahal discuss issues of current political situation, mutual benefits
KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has paid a courtesy visit to CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday.
Issues regarding current political situation and mutual benefits were discussed between the two leaders during the meeting held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza in Kathmandu
The visiting Minister Swaraj congratulated left success on recent election and expressed best wishes to the new government being formed under the leadership of left alliance.
Swaraj expressing her concern about the CPN-UML and Maoist Center party unification and new government formation, stated that Nepal’s development and prosperity was the primary wish of the Indian government as well. She also assured that India was eager to cooperate with the left alliance government.
Chair Dahal, in exchange, shared that he was positive about the unification with UML adding that the unification process would be concluded probably only after the formation of new government.
Dahal also said that the left alliance government was willing to cooperate with India in the days ahead.
Swaraj is scheduled to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at their residences later in the afternoon.
