Irrigation Ministry Secretary Yadav killed in Trishuli jeep accident

DHADING, Feb 10: Secretary of Irrigation Ministry Ram Chandra Yadav has died after a jeep he was travelling plunged in to the Trishuli River Benighat Rorang rural municipality-3, Salangghat today morning.

Secretary Yadav, his son Sanjaya and an Unnati Gupta, 15 had gone missing in Trishuli river when the jeep, Ba 2 Jha 3140 was en route to Kathmandu from Narayangadh, fell 50 meters down highway. His body was found by the rescue team later in the jeep which at the depth of 15 meters inside the river.

Besides Secretary Yadav, his son Sanjaya and an adolescent girl were travelling in the jeep. Driver Nirajan Yadav who survived the accident was rescued by the locals.

Yadav’s 22-year old son and the girl are still missing.

The injured driver was sent to Kathmandu for the treatment, said police sources.
