Dahal stresses on need of making nation self-sufficient
KATHMANDU, March 6: CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the constitution amendment issues raised by dissenting parties would be responded on the basis of its meaning.
While addressing a meeting of House of Representatives in Kathmandu on Tuesday, leader Dahal said effective efforts were necessary to enforce the constitution. He took the time to claim that the incumbent would be able to take all dissenting parties into confidence and meet the people’s mandate for building the nation.
CPN-UML Chair Oli became the prime minister following the elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assemblies with the support from the Maoist Center and both parties had an alliance during the elections.
“Constructive support from all walks of life was imperative in the nation building campaign. The successful completion of the three-tier election was possible because of support and cooperation from all quarters,” he said.
According to leader Dahal, economic crisis the country was likely facing could be avoided through collective efforts.
He expressed his hope that the present government would work with full dedication to end bad governance, corruption and anomalies from the country.
Dahal further said that Nepal could unlock a door for development by taking benefits from economic progress achieved by China and India.
“We are neither dependent on India nor China. It is a must for us to focus on building a self-sufficient nation,” he said.
The former Prime Minister furthered that the leftist government would move ahead in cooperation with the opposition.
He took the time to speak words of honor for all martyrs who contributed to bringing political changes in the country.
