Prime Minister Oli wins vote of confidence with two-third majority
KATHMANDU, March 11: Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has secured two-third vote of confidence at the parliament on Sunday.
Of the total 268 lawmaker present at the parliament, Prime Minster Oli received 208 votes in support whereas 60 votes were cast against the confidence motion.
He received 121 votes from CPN-UML, 51 from CPN (Maoist Center), 16 each from Rastriya Janta Party Nepal and Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, one each from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and one independent lawmaker Chhaka Bahadur Lama.
59 lawmakers from Nepali Congress and one from Nepal Workers and Peasant Party voted against the confidence motion.
Naya Shakti Party coordinator missed the voting as he was absent in today meeting. Bhattarai is out of country. Likewise, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal lawmaker Resham Chaudhary is in custody in charge of his involvement in 2015 Tikapur incident.
