US-Bangla airline crashes at Tribhuvan International Airport, 14 injured
KATHMANDU, March 12: At least 14 passengers have been injured when a US-Bangla airline crashed at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Monday.
The UBG 211 aircraft, which enroute from Dhaka, Bangladesh skid off the runway while landing and crashed at a football ground at 2:20 pm, according to TIA Sources.
The rescued 14 passengers have been taken to Civil Hospital, New Baneshwor and KMC Hospital, Sinamangal for treatment.
The airline had caught fire after the crash.
67 passengers and 4 crew members were onboard the plane. TIA rescue team, Nepal Army, Nepal Police have been carrying out rescue operation, according to TIA Spokesperson Prem Nath Thakur.
The TIA authorities have suspected casualties. But the details are sketchy.
