PM Oli vows to address all problems of provinces
KATHMANDU, March 21: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government would issue a white paper to address the problems emerged in the implementation of federalism.
Being informed about the existing situation of all seven provinces from the respective Chief Ministers, Prime Minister Oli said the government would unveil a clear plan of actions to move ahead for prosperity by implementing federalism.
After the meeting held Wednesday at the PMO, Prime Minister’s chief political advisor Bishnu Rimal said some confusion were seen due to attitudinal and other problems but they would be resolved by issuing the white paper soon.
“No one has right to be back from federalism. No one has permission to pronounce failure to run federalism,” Rimal quoted the PM as saying.
All level of government should work in unison, the PM said.
Sharing information about the meeting with Prime Minister, Karnali Province’s Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi said the Chief Ministers briefed the PM of the lack of laws, resources and coordination in the provinces. He argued that as Karnali Province was economically backward and remote, special rights were needed for it, which could be guaranteed by the federal act.
In response, PM Oli said development and construction were the national campaign of the government, so it was time to act by facing the challenges.
Similarly, Chief Minister from Province 2, Lal Babu Rawat, said the PM’s attention was drawn for the central government’s assistance to ensure smooth functioning of the provinces.
Rawat further informed that the central government was informed objectively about the views of the area experts, problems of physical infrastructures.RSS
