State Minister Banskota directs to bring plan of action within a week

KATHMANDU, March 22: State Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota has directed the officials of the line agencies to bring result-oriented plans of action of their respective institutions within a week.

At a program in the ministry on Thursday, State Minister Banskota directed the chiefs of the line agencies to bring plans of action along with objectives and goals to implement within three-four months.

“You have to submit what the organization is working in, what are the weaknesses, how can they be addressed and what are the future plans,” the State Minister asked to furnish the details categorically in brief.

Saying that the private institutions run with state facilities and grants have progressed but the state-owned agencies have degraded day by day, Banskota added this needs to be improved.

All stakeholders should work to ensure people’s access to quality information in an accessible and easy way as the constitution has guaranteed right to information as the people’s fundamental rights.

State Minister Banskota also shared that the major target of the government was to maintain good governance and make a prosperous nation and stated that all should work together and dutifully to make the upcoming decade as the period of new construction.

During the program, the State Minister directed chiefs of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Nepal Telecom, Nepal Television, Radio Nepal, Gorkhapatra Corporation, Nepal Telecommunications Authority, Minimum Wages Fixation Committee, Film Development Board, Department of Postal Services and others to work out for reforms immediately in the services they cater to the public.

On the occasion, State Minister Banskota suggested the RSS to make plans to garner more revenue and adopt stern measures to curb unauthorized uses of RSS news services.

Likewise, Secretary at the Ministry Kedar Bahadur Adhikari expected support from all line agencies as per the direction of the State Minister. RSS
