Civilized society through cleanliness: Chair Dahal
KATHMANDU, March 24: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that a civilized society would be built only if norms and values of sanitation can be spread across the nation.
At a special program organized by Green City Hospital on the occasion of 50th week of Ring Road Clean-Up Campaign in the capital on Saturday, Chairman Dahal urged all to join hands in this campaign at a time when the country is involved in the mega campaign of nation building.
Similarly, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ said that it was necessary to launch a campaign against the waste as it is the enemy of the people.
He said action would be taken against those throwing waste in public vehicles as well as parking vehicles unsystematically.
Likewise, Minister for Forest and Environment, Shakti Bahadur Basnet, said that the constitution has guaranteed the right to live in clean and healthy environment.
He said all should work to build healthy environment, adding the mega campaign should be launched by integrating clean-up campaign of all sectors.
Deputy-Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Hari Prabha Khadgi, Mayor of Tokha municipality, Prakash Adhikari, among others expressed their views.
The campaign launched from April 15, 2017 has so far collected more than 750 metric tonnes of waste and more than 25,000 people have participated in it, said campaigner Lok Bahadur Tandon. RSS
