Tribhuvan International Airport will operate for 24 hours: Minister Gautam

Adhikari

KATHMANDU, March 25: Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari has promised to operate the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) 24 hours a day.

“Even if we have a single runway, the TIA can be operated 24/7. We can manage the airport using the available all technologies. If the airport in Bombay, which has only one runaway, can run for 24 hours, why not TIA?,”said Minister Adhikari at an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Sunday.

He furthered that if the operation hour of the airport is added, the problems occurring in air traffic can be significantly minimized.

Minister Adhikari also pledged to complete the construction of Gautam Buddha Airport by 2019. “The Gautam Buddha Airport will come into operation by 2019. Then the air traffic will be controlled, which will also foster tourism in Nepal.
