PM Oli calls for lifting country’s economy

KATHMANDU, March 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stressed the need for boosting up country’s economy through political stability and enforcement of the new constitution.

“Now the country is suffering from current economy trouble. The government will lift the troubled economy,” he said while inaugurating the 7th National General Convention of the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

The incumbent government prioritizes corruption control, development and prosperity of the country, and agriculture modernization, said the PM.

“I am at the helm of the government only for a delivery. I will raise the whole society by making the country a model democracy,” he said, adding that the new government marks the beginning of a new era.

Saying the new constitution represents all levels of the society, he said democracy should evolve and help transform whole lifestyle of the society, and ways of economic and political system.

He also said he would work ahead in favor of cooperation and world peace while strengthening ties with neighboring countries.

He also urged all workers across the country to unite for their rights.

On the occasion, PM Oli’s advisor and GEFONT’s President Bishnu Rimal said the organisation was working for the welfare of workers.

A total of 50 workers from various 20 countries have participated in the conference with its slogan, “Strengthened democracy and prosperous labour group”.

The conference that will run for March 31 will pick a new leadership for the next four years. RSS
